July 27 – Blue Ribbon Pie Contest
Join us in celebrating our third annual Blue Ribbon Pie Contest during Oregon Trail Days. More information and contest application coming later in the season.

AUGUST
State & National Farmers Market Week (to be announced)
August 10 – From Cabbage to Sauerkraut
Bring a wide-mouth Mason jar and learn how to make sauerkraut in a jar!
August 24 – Summer Fest-Smoothies
Learn how to make healthy vegetable and fruit drinks. Sampling and kits will be available for sale.

SEPTEMBER
September 14 – Salsa Saturday – Learn how to make salsa-fruit or vegetable, mild or spicy! Sampling and kits will be available.
September 28 - Closing Day
Vendor Appreciation Day – Come thank our fabulous vendors and stock up on holiday gifts or last of the season produce for winter canning.
Great Pumpkin Contest – Annual battle between the vendors! Customers are encouraged to participate in the voting.

Our annual competition the fourth Saturday in July, during Oregon Trail Days, and sponsored by O Bee Credit Union. Prizes awarded to winner in each category. Watch for more information and application coming later in the season.

Senior Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program begins June 1, 2013

SFMNP checks will be distributed solely by mail on a first come first serve basis this year. Applications will be available on the Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging website www.lmtaaa.org on or after June 1 for download and printing. Applications will also be available at the Market. The SFMNP provides low-income seniors with $40 in SFMNP checks to purchase fresh, nutritious, unprepared, unprocessed, locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey and fresh-cut herbs from authorized farmers’ markets and roadside stands.
