Enter our Blue Ribbon Pie Contest!
Enter the Blue Ribbon Pie Contest during Oregon Trail Days, Saturday, July 27! GREAT PRIZES – First and second place will be awarded for each of the six categories, plus grand champion. The Pie Contest has a special Junior Pie Baker category for ages 15 and under. All pies must be entirely homemade and become the property of the Tenino Farmers Market. Enter as many pies as you wish! The entry fee is $3.00 per pie. Application/Rules are available for download here, at the Saturday Market and Tenino City Hall. Pie(s) must be submitted 9am-12noon at Thurston County Fire District #12, 149 Hodgden Street South. Judging starts at 1pm and winners will be announced at 3pm. Following winner announcements, pies will be sold by the slice.
Senior Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program begins June 1, 2013
SFMNP checks will be distributed solely by mail on a first come first serve basis this year. Applications will be available on the Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging website www.lmtaaa.org on or after June 1 for download and printing. Applications will also be available at the Market. The SFMNP provides low-income seniors with $40 in SFMNP checks to purchase fresh, nutritious, unprepared, unprocessed, locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey and fresh-cut herbs from authorized farmers’ markets and roadside stands.
